R&W Scott Ltd has a proud and successful history in Carluke, Central Scotland, dating back to 1880. Today, our food manufacturing facility is home to a dedicated team of over 80 skilled employees. Many of our team members live locally and take great pride in producing a wide range of bakery ingredients for customers across the UK and internationally.
We believe that our people are the driving force behind our ongoing success. With over 600 years of combined service, our team brings unmatched knowledge, experience and passion to every part of our business. Many of our colleagues have been with us for decades (some for more than 40 years!) and several have family connections to R&W Scott that span generations. This not only reflects loyalty, but also deep expertise in our products, equipment and processes.

As a Real Living Wage and Living Hours accredited employer, we are committed to providing fair pay, secure and predictable hours and opportunities for personal and professional growth. By focusing on wellbeing, training and ongoing support, we have built a workplace where our team can truly thrive. We are also proud to be a longstanding part of the local community. We actively support local employment, create stable jobs and foster a positive, inclusive culture rooted in respect, collaboration and shared success.
Our Managing Director, Stephen Currie, was recently interviewed about the forthcoming Employment Rights Bill and commented:
"As a 100% employee-owned business since the summer of 2024, our workers are clearly the lifeblood of our business. We know that good pay and secure hours are essential to their wellbeing as they are to our success. It's therefore positive to see new laws introduced to provide workers with more stable and secure work; this is good for workers, families and employers. Investing in our colleagues is essential for our growth - that's why we've gone further as a Living Hours employer, providing clear notice of shifts, a minimum of 16 hours work a week and a contract that reflects hours worked. Providing all of our colleagues with regular, well-paid work has provided huge benefits, and we encourage more employers to commit to building on these new measures by becoming a Living Hours employer."
