Our journey in jam spans many generations, dating back to 1873 when two enterprising brothers’ Robert and William Scott started harvesting strawberries.
Scotland is renowned for the quality of its strawberries, we produce the sweetest, tastiest fruit but that wasn’t always the case. In the days of enlightenment, fruit harvesting was practically unheard of until our founding father Robert Scott learnt his craft!
Robert, with the help of his brother William, planted half an acre of strawberries at Mashockmill Orchard. The fertile soil and favourable weather yielded incredible results and the strawberry business took off from there.
Family-run for over five generations, Robert, William and the Scott’s family that followed into the business have passed their expertise down the line.
Today, we continue to embrace our heritage with a commitment to quality and the latest technology. We never compromise on taste, quality or affordability. We adhere to time-honoured recipes and cooking methods, producing small batches of hand-stirred ingredients using authentic copper pots.
As a business we continually innovate and grow. We are a forward thinking business and have invested over £2million in the last 18 months, to facilitate our ongoing expansion plans with a new pie-filling and jam plant in Carluke.
We are committed to continually move forward and invest in our factory, equipment, people and new product development to keep R&W Scott at the forefront of innovation.
